Malcolm Cushing D.D.S., M.S.
I have been excited about the art and science of periodontics for
the past thirty-five years in my Framingham periodontics practice. Now more than
ever, new procedures and technologies have permitted me to provide
service that was unimaginable just a few short years ago. For example,
some of the procedures I am now able to perform include:
- Growth of bone enabling me to save teeth and safely place dental
implants.
- Utilization of gum grafts to reverse effects of recession, prevent
associated bone loss, and enhance aesthetics.
- Crown lengthening to either enhance aesthetics of gummy smiles
or allow placement of subgingival fillings and crowns in health
and comfort on teeth broken down under the gum line.
Helping patients regain optimal function and regain their youthful
appearance has continued to energize and inspire me now and will
so into the future.
I have approached periodontics with a focus on education.
- Educating my patients by offering information about their conditions
and possible treatment plans.
- Educating my staff during regular office meetings.
- Educating residents in periodontics and implant dentistry at
B.U. and Harvard.
- Educating colleagues and their staffs through a newsletter,
“Update on Periodontics” as well as through treatment
conferences and letter exchanges about individual patients.
- As past president of the Massachusetts Periodontal Society,
upgrading the educational programming available to dental professionals
in the Framingham, Boston, Natick, Metrowest, Wellesley and New England area.
